La serpe fendoir de cerclier
Sometimes one comes across a tool that is not easy to identify. The paper below discusses three such billhook shaped tools, and my hypothesis that they are used as serpe-fendoirs de cercliers (billhook shaped cleavers used to split chestnut saplings to make barrel hoops).
